Chemistry Words: Convection current

Simple Description

Convection currents are movements occurring in materials that can flow because of differences in temperature. Between different parts.

Further Detail

Convection currents occur in the mantle of the Earth's structure. Heat from radioactivity in the core heats the liquid particles in the mantle. The hotter, less dense mantle moves towards the surface of the Earth while the cooler, denser mantle moves towards the core, a convection current is set up.
