Physics Words: Circuit breaker

Simple Description

A device that switches off a circuit if there is too much current.

Further Detail

Circuit breakers are safety devices that switch off when there is too much current. They have a number of advantages over a fuse (which also switches off a circuit when there is too much current). For example, they can be easily reset, they don't get hot and they don't need to be replaced like fuses do.
